Refund Policy

Last updated 2026-07-05

This Refund Policy explains when and how Sayable, operated by TEAHOUSEAI LLC ("Sayable," "we," "us"), refunds subscription charges. It is part of the Sayable Terms of Service; capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning in the Terms of Service.

If you have a question about a specific charge, email support@sayable.work before opening a chargeback — most issues are resolved faster that way.

1. Default Position

Sayable is a monthly, auto-renewing subscription priced at US$49 per month. Once a monthly billing period starts, that period is non-refundable by default. You can cancel at any time to prevent the next month's charge; access to the Service continues through the end of the period you already paid for.

This default applies to both web (Stripe) and iOS App Store subscriptions, subject to the specific processes described below and to any statutory rights you have as a consumer.

2. When We Do Offer Refunds

We will refund a paid billing period, in full or in part as appropriate, in the following situations:

2.1 Extended service outage. If the Service is materially unavailable for an extended period during a billing cycle and the outage is on our side, we will offer a pro-rata refund or credit for the affected days on request.

2.2 Duplicate or erroneous charge. If you were charged twice for the same period, or charged after a properly submitted cancellation was not honored, we will refund the excess or wrongful charge in full.

2.3 Cancellation not honored. If you cancelled through the correct channel (web account settings or Apple ID subscription management) before the renewal date and were charged anyway, we will refund the charge in full.

2.4 First-time goodwill window (discretionary). We may, in our sole discretion, refund your first paid month if you request the refund within 7 days of your first charge, this is your first Sayable subscription, and your use of the Service during that window has been minimal (typically fewer than 2 reps recorded). This is a courtesy, not a contractual right, and does not apply to renewals or to accounts that have previously received a goodwill refund.

2.5 Any statutory refund right that applies to you. See Section 5.

3. How to Request a Refund (Web / Stripe)

Email support@sayable.work within 30 days of the charge, and include:

We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Stripe to the original payment method; the funds typically appear in 5-10 business days depending on your bank.

4. How to Request a Refund (iOS App Store)

App Store subscription charges are collected by Apple, not by TEAHOUSEAI LLC. Under Apple's merchant terms we cannot directly refund an App Store charge. To request a refund for an iOS subscription:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
  2. Find the Sayable subscription charge and follow Apple's prompts to request a refund.
  3. Apple decides App Store refund requests under its own policy.

You can also email support@sayable.work and we will help you prepare or escalate the request with Apple. If Apple declines a refund that falls inside our own refund policy (Section 2), contact us — we may offer an equivalent credit or an out-of-band refund where we are able to.

5. EU / UK Statutory Right of Withdrawal

If you subscribed while resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants a statutory right of withdrawal for online purchases, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the date the subscription contract begins ("cooling-off period"), without giving any reason and without penalty.

How to exercise the right. Send a clear statement of withdrawal to support@sayable.work before the 14-day period expires. Referencing your account email and the date of the charge is helpful.

How the refund is calculated. Sayable is a monthly subscription service that we begin providing to you immediately after you subscribe (with your express request at checkout for immediate performance). If you exercise your right of withdrawal during the cooling-off period, we will:

Refunds are issued within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, to the original payment method.

Express consent to immediate performance. By subscribing you expressly consent to us beginning to provide the Service immediately after your subscription starts, and you acknowledge that this consent enables the pro-rata calculation above (per Article 14(3) of Directive 2011/83/EU as amended, and the equivalent UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). This does not waive your right of withdrawal — it only defines how the refund is calculated when you exercise it.

This statutory right is in addition to the discretionary refund cases in Section 2 and is never limited by them.

6. Cancellation vs. Refund

Cancellation and refund are different actions:

Cancelling does not automatically trigger a refund of the current period.

7. Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us at support@sayable.work, we may:

Most refund questions are resolved faster and without side effects by emailing us first. If you have already opened a chargeback and want to withdraw it in favor of a direct refund, tell us and we will coordinate.
